We only took one show horse to this show, along with colts we’re getting ready to start showing. But what a horse we took!! In a large, tough Open class Justin Austin & Smart Lil Espinoso won it on Friday.

Unfortunately there are no videos or photos or photos from the most impressive run of the week. A semi took out a power pole, knocking out power in half of Ada right before the start of the Sr Youth on Wednesday. All the kids elected to go ahead and show in the dark since the cattle were settled. Just as Chelsie cut her 2nd cow on Kit, he stumbled & put his knee through one of her reins, jerking it out of her hand. She continued to show him with one rein, couldn’t get it picked up while making her 3rd cut, and finished her run with one rein only. Even with dragging the rein & stepping on it occasionally during the run, Kit performed admirably and the pair won their class for the day giving them a great start on the saddle series.
After the long NCHA-imposed lay-off of shows due to the EHV1 virus, it’s show time in Oklahoma again. Look for show results coming soon. Everybody try to stay cool & hydrated.
